PORTUGAL - Já instalou o seu Alarme Casa Prosegur?
As mentioned above, the big paradigm shift occurred in March 2020. The advent of confinement forced people to stay at home and left, for a long time, their second residence unattended. If you take into account that 60% of the alarms installed by Securitas Direct are through recommendations or in second homes, it is easy to imagine that this feeling of unprotection translated into an imperative need to hire the service in that house in the village that you could not reach when you were confined, nor later with the perimeter locks.
New Securitas Direct alarm with PreSense technology
Corporación Financiera Alba, controlled by Grupo March, has agreed to purchase for 557 million euros 7.5% of the Swedish group Verisure, the European leader in security alarms through the Securitas Direct and Verisure brands.
The agreement, communicated to the CNMV, consists of the purchase of 8.4% of Shield Luxco, a Luxembourg-based company owned by the U.S. investment fund Hellman & Friedman. This US firm has been Verisure's main shareholder since 2015, when it acquired a controlling stake from Bain Capital.
The purchase of this 8.4% will give Alba an indirect 7.5% stake in Verisure and make it one of its core shareholders. It has already sealed the acquisition of 7.2% of Shield Luxco and will acquire the remaining portion in the coming weeks.
Verisure operates in 14 countries and has 3 million alarms deployed, making it the leader in Europe and one of the benchmark companies in Latin America. It also has a workforce of 16,000 employees.
